A new city centre restaurant and
in Chester – one of the UK's most attractive historic cities
Chester Northgate is the proposed regeneration of the north-west quarter of Chester city centre.
With planning consent having been granted in September 2019, the development's first phase in now gearing up for the start of construction. It will provide a 6-screen Picturehouse cinema, a new food hall and market, restaurants and cafés, and a 788-space multi-storey car park built to serve the needs of this new city centre destination.
The development will be set around a new public square with pedestrian links through to Northgate Street and to the highly successful Storyhouse cultural centre with its 800-seat theatre and library.
Future phases – designed around open pedestrian streets and public spaces – will integrate seamlessly with both Phase 1 and the existing city centre, and complete the mixed-use revitalisation of a significant area of the city centre.
